Job Description - Probation Service Officer

Probation Service Officer

Location: Derbyshire
Salary: £18 - £21 p/h ltd
Contract Type: 26 Weeks min.
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Probation Service Officer (PSO) to join our team and support the effective delivery of probation services. This is a vital role in ensuring individuals on probation receive the appropriate assessments, supervision, and support to aid their rehabilitation and protect the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Initial Appointments with individuals on probation.
Complete and maintain UPW DAT (Digital Assessment Tool) and OASys ISP (Initial Sentence Plan) assessments accurately and in a timely manner.
Develop and implement sentence plans that reflect risk assessments and rehabilitation needs.
Monitor compliance with court orders and licence conditions.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver a high standard of service.
Maintain detailed records and provide regular reports as required.

Essential Criteria:

Up-to-date experience and knowledge as a Probation Service Officer is essential.
Strong working knowledge of UPW DAT and OASys ISP systems.
Proven ability to manage a caseload and work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Commitment to rehabilitation, public protection, and effective risk management.

Desirable:

Experience working with a diverse range of service users.
A qualification in criminology, social work, or related field.
