Probation Service Officer

Red Snapper is recruiting a Probation Services Officer to work within an Approved Premises in Scunthorpe, part of the Yorkshire & The Humber region. This is a vital frontline role supporting the safe reintegration of People on Probation into the community.

Location: Scunthorpe Approved Premises, South Yorkshire (31 Normanby Road, DN15 6AS)

Duration: 3 Months, with possibility of extension | Full-Time - 37 hours/week

Free On-Site Parking Available

Salary: £16.39 p/h PAYE or £21.59 Umbrella

Role Overview

You will support the day-to-day management of residents, contribute to risk management, and engage in multi-agency working to ensure effective supervision, support, and enforcement where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured keywork sessions to support compliance and rehabilitation
• Complete and review residence plans in line with sentence requirements
• Liaise with partnership agencies including police, housing, and substance misuse services
• Attend and contribute to core group and multi-agency meetings
• Identify, assess, and manage risk, including safeguarding concerns
• Deliver enforcement action in line with AP protocols and public protection policy

Requirements

• Experience in a probation, criminal justice, housing, or support setting
• Confident in working within a structured residential setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage challenging behaviour
• Good organisational, IT, and report-writing skills
• Understanding of risk management and safeguarding principles
