Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00 - 17:30)

Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support a key restructuring programme within Corporate Resources. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact procurement activities in a dynamic local authority setting.

You will be responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations, and driving value for money across commissioned services. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver under pressure within a fast-paced environment.

• Lead and manage end-to-end procurement exercises in line with public sector legislation.

• Work with internal stakeholders to define requirements and develop tender documentation.

• Negotiate contracts and ensure effective supplier performance.

• Provide procurement advice and guidance to teams across the council.

• Support strategic sourcing and cost-saving initiatives.

• Proven track record in public sector procurement.

• Strong understanding of procurement legislation and best practice.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

• MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
