About the Role:
Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support their Procurement Centre team due to increased workload. The role involves managing the end-to-end procurement process for goods, services, and works, primarily at low to medium risk/value, in line with internal policies and public procurement legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead on low to medium risk procurement activities across a range of categories.

• Support and deliver mini competitions via national/local framework agreements.

• Produce contract recommendation reports and relevant legislative documentation.

• Provide advice on procurement best practice and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Monitor supplier and category spend, contributing to the development of strategic procurement plans.

• Assist in supply market research and public sector benchmarking to ensure value for money.

• Support wider procurement initiatives and contribute to service development projects.

Requirements:

• CIPS qualification, or working towards it, or significant relevant experience in the absence of formal qualification.

• Sound knowledge of UK and EU procurement legislation and public sector procurement practice.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience in using procurement systems such as SAP and e-tendering portals is desirable.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Work Arrangement:
This is a hybrid role with an expectation of at least 2 days per week working from the office at County Hall, West Bridgford.
