Procurement Officer

Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced procurement professional which may be extendedfor the right applicant

You will

To support the delivery of efficient, transparent and value-driven procurement services across the local authority which will ensure the delivery of service objectives by supporting the end-to-end procurement processes in compliance with public sector regulations.

To work within the centralised procurement team to ensure that goods, services and works are procured in a way that achieves best value for money, promotes social value and supports the council’s strategic objectives.

To engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring effective partnership working with a range of provider organisations, supporting the service area to self-serve for lower value procurements, supporting tender processes, assisting with the development of procurement strategies and advising service areas.

To identify and achieve efficiencies in commissioning and procurement for cost savings by working closely with service areas and wider stakeholders. Able to make a significant impact in a fast-paced changing environment

To be consdiered for this you will ideally be CIPS certified and have experience within a public sector environment
