**Product Owner** (Contract)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: Halifax or Leeds/Hybrid (2 days on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary is available for suitable candidates

About the Role

In this hybrid role, you will blend project management discipline with product ownership responsibilities, delivering incremental value without direct line management or backlog ownership. You will collaborate closely with Centres of Excellence and cross-functional teams, ensuring effective delivery of product features, management of risks, and continuous improvement of the colleague experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the delivery of product features and propositions through structured project management practices.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure timely release of incremental value.
• Support business readiness activities, including training, communications, testing, and implementation planning.
• Investigate incidents and develop contingency plans to mitigate delivery risks.
• Collaborate with Integrators for large-scale change initiatives.
• Define user stories and support analysis for customer journey improvements.
• Provide input into the overall product vision and roadmap.
• Support the development of team OKRs and track product performance and benefits realization.
• Ensure compliance with product change governance for assigned features and journeys.
• Manage product risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
• Work closely with the Customer Journey Manager and Centres of Excellence to align delivery with strategic goals.
• Engage with stakeholders to uncover emerging needs and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams without direct ownership of the product backlog.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing business practices.
• Support the implementation of development frameworks and informally mentor others in the organization.
• Take ownership of personal development and contribute to the growth of team capabilities.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in project delivery within a product-led environment.
• Proven experience using Jira and adhering to Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle, governance, and risk management.
• Ability to analyze complex proposals and develop feasible solutions.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience in delivering outcomes through influence rather than direct leadership.
• Familiarity with colleague experience initiatives and cultural transformation programs is a plus.
