Job Description - Production Engineer

£35.02 PAYE or £47.14 Umbrella
Location: Barrow-in-Furness - on-site Monday-Friday
Contract: 12 months (Opportunity to be extended)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About The Role:
  • The purpose of Manufacturing Engineering is to develop, implement and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly, disassembly and repair (including method of verification) which can meet customer and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance to design intent.
  • As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will have significant involvement in key Manufacturing Engineering projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to guarantee delivery of Manufacturing Engineering outputs into Operations that ensure design intent can be met. The role holder will advise, coach and lead other team members as part of their daily responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for converting the Engineering Design intent into Manufacturing Engineering data (sometimes complex) for Manufacturing Operations use
  • Responsible for timely completion of personal and team tasks using appropriate techniques.
  • Responsible for managing and developing staff in-line with appropriate performance management techniques and processes.
  • Responsible for identifying own development opportunities
  • Where appropriate, checks and approves the Teams' work ready for release to Manufacturing Operations
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in defining and managing Key Performance Indicators
  • Experience in performing route cause analysis and reporting on countermeasures
  • Previous experience in dealing with performance management and leading a team
  • Professional knowledge of relevant Engineering standards (including SHE regulations)
  • HNC or equivalent, plus substantial experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role OR Foundation degree with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
