Production Operative

Job Description

Out client is looking for a production operative to join their expanding production team. The purpose of the role is for operative to pack large or small quantities in all types of packaging on different lines that have been requested by the customer. This role includes stripping and cleaning specific lines and associated equipment and running/operating specified line and equipment within the process and packing area without supervision.

Duties

• Set up, run and operate specified line and equipment within the process and packing area without supervision.
• Strip and clean specific lines and associated equipment.
• Fault find and report any breakdowns on the lines, carry out basic repair/maintenance requirements.
• Liaise with colleagues ensuring continuity and carry out effective handovers both verbally and in writing.
• Correctly carry out any required quality checks and constantly monitor the quality of the product being filled and packed.
• Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, carrying out duties following GMP and being responsible for the hygiene and housekeeping in the specified work area.
• Have a flexible approach to work and carry out alternative duties such as helping in other areas, as and when required.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, working within 'safe systems of work’.
• Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements.
• Assist with the training of other employees as necessary.

Required knowledge, skills or experience

• Must be able to do:
• Scale verification checks
• Hygiene and integrity checks
• Metal detector verification checks
• Complete all health and safety checks on machinery and fill in documentation.
• Label verification check against recipe Labelling of product packaging and loading of pallets
• Completion of due diligence and packing (recipe) sheets
• Must follow procedures when the packing of non-allergens and allergens PPC control
• Transfer of finished product sample and recipe sheet to QC laboratory
• Clean as you go / completion of cleaning schedule

Location: Houghton Le Spring

Hours of work:
• 7:00 - 15:00 (£12.21)
• 15:00-23:00 includes £56 weekly shift allowance (£12.93)
• 23:00-7:00 includes £125 weekly shift allowance (£14.77)

Rates of pay:
• £12.21 - £14.77 per hour
