Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for mechanical production technicians to work within a thriving plasma technology business in Yatton, near Bristol. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong teamwork culture where you will be building precision equipment that is used at the forefront of scientific research and development.

£31,000-35,000 depending on experience
Monday - Friday
Each working week consists of 4 shifts of 8 hours and one of 5 hours. Currently, the shifts are Early (starting at 06:00hrs) and Afternoon (starting at 14:00hrs)
Great overtime rates
25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
Half-days on Fridays

About the job

Work on the assembly build of high-tech, cutting edge products
Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems
Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved
Identify and resolve build problems
Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process
Detail fitting skills to precision level, including machining (typically milling and turning), vacuum and pneumatics and pipe bending with stainless steel, ¼" to ½"
Train and guide less experienced technicians

The right candidate

Time served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3
Ability to read mechanical drawings
Ability to fault find and implement corrective action
Precision fitting and pipe bending skills
A good working knowledge of Swagelok
PC skills
Good communication skills
