Programme Officer

Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a local council to recruit an experienced Programme Officer for an interim contract lasting 8 months.

About the Role:
You will play a key role in supporting the Programme Manager in delivering the Directorate Improvement and Recovery Board programme. This includes maintaining up-to-date programme documentation, coordinating reporting to the Corporate PMO, and ensuring smooth communication across stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Programme Manager with programme coordination and delivery.
• Maintain accurate and current programme documentation
• Prepare and support reporting processes to the Corporate PMO.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather updates and ensure timely delivery of programme milestones.
• Work across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Essential Skills:

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Planner, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams (including virtual whiteboards).
• Experience in programme or project support within a public sector or complex organisational setting is highly desirable.
