Project Accountant

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be partnered with a fast-growing SME in Glasgow for the appointment of a Project Accountant on an initial 12-week basis. Working within the energy sector, our client has over 50 years' experience in the market and, as a result of growth and process improvement plans, they are now looking for an experienced Accountant on an interim basis. Offering £26.50 per hour (£45,000 per hour equivalent), you will work on a hybrid basis over either 4 or 5 days a week. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Accountant to get involved in a mixture of BAU and project activities in an interesting and vibrant environment.
Your new role
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing a review and growth preparation project, which will include robust business process mapping, running parallel to a finance system upgrade. Standard Management Accounting function management will also be required, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and accurate reporting of financial information. Strong General Ledger and Budgeting and forecasting tasks will also be involved from assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing financial forecasts and recommendations for improving financial performance.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be professionally qualified or qualified by experience with strong systems, reporting and analysis experience. Comfortable in an "end-end" environment, you will be responsible for invoicing, payroll, management accounting and supporting with systems improvements to enhance MI. Advanced Excel skills would be advantageous.
