Project Accountant

Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Project Accountant with a solid manufacturing background to join a leading business in Herefordshire. This role needs someone who can hit the ground running, quickly get to grips with live projects, and provide robust financial control and analysis across cost and capex activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Own project finances — budgets, costs, and reporting.

• Drive margin analysis and track customer profitability.

• Maintain tight cost control across operational and capital spend.

• Deliver monthly reports with insight on variances and risks.

• Partner with engineering, ops, and commercial teams on live projects.

• Support investment decisions with clear financial analysis.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).

• Strong project accounting experience within UK manufacturing.

• Confident, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

• Skilled in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics etc.).

• Able to work closely with non-finance teams and challenge where needed.
