Project Engineer

We are working with a leading Tier 2 main contractor with a strThey are currently delivering multiple packages on a major infrastructure project in West London, and are looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer to join their team.

We're seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Project Engineer to provide crucial technical oversight and support for our critical cladding and steel packages on a major infrastructure project in West London. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of complex construction techniques and a sharp eye for technical detail to ensure successful project delivery.

• Technical Design Review & Assurance: Scrutinize and validate technical designs for cladding and steel packages, ensuring compliance with specifications, relevant standards, and best practices.
• Engineering Solutions: Collaborate closely with design teams, consultants, and site teams to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for any technical challenges that arise.
• Specification Adherence: Ensure all works are executed in strict accordance with project specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues on-site, providing expert guidance and support to the construction teams.
• QA/QC Implementation: Oversee the implementation of robust quality assurance and quality control procedures for the cladding and steel works, conducting regular inspections and audits.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including RFI's, technical queries, design changes, and progress reports.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with designers, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders, acting as the primary technical point of contact for the cladding and steel packages.
• Method Statement Review: Review and approve method statements and risk assessments from subcontractors to ensure technical robustness and safety.
• Health & Safety: Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all technical aspects of the work adhere to company policies and regulations.

• Main Contractor Experience: Significant and demonstrable experience working as a Project Engineer or similar technical role for a main contractor in the UK.
• Infrastructure Project Experience: Proven experience on major infrastructure projects, ideally with a focus on large-scale structural or architectural elements.
• Cladding & Steel Technical Expertise: Specific and in-depth technical experience in managing and overseeing complex cladding and steel packages is highly desirable.
• Educational Background: HNC or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Qualifications: A valid CSCS Card is essential.
• Skills:
  • Exceptional technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with relevant engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
