Project Manager (Transformation/Children's Services)

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Project Manager for our client a local government organisation in Bedford.

The successful candidate will support the delivery and reporting of key reform activity across Children’s Services. They will play a critical role in driving forward both the Change Programme reforms and the wider service transformation, including the restructure of Children’s Services.

Working closely with the Children’s Services Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will coordinate, track, and report on progress, ensuring alignment with DfE expectations while enabling meaningful change across the service.

This role is a 3 month contract with the possibility to extend.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Lead and support reporting on all aspects of the DfE Change Programme reforms.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of the wider Children’s Services restructure.
• Liaise across senior leaders and teams to ensure alignment, delivery, and impact.
• Provide clear, timely updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and areas requiring further transformation support.

Personal Requirements:

• Proven experience in programme or transformation roles, ideally within local government or public sector.
• Strong understanding of children’s services and national reform agendas.
• Confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at pace across multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Working Hours: 37hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / Monday to Friday

Pay: £705.42 per day
