Project Payroll Manager

Flexible working hours - 37 hours a week

A client of ours is seeking a Project Payroll & People Advisor to support key updates to payroll system configuration, focusing on absence and pension reporting. This role is project-based and does not involve processing payroll but rather testing, analysis and system improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and review payroll elements and absence configuration
• Support system changes to improve statutory absence processing
• Assist in updating reporting processes for Teachers' and Local Government pensions
• Conduct user acceptance testing and provide clear feedback
• Ensure changes align with payroll legislation and compliance

What You'll Need:

• Strong payroll knowledge, including PAYE, NI, and statutory absences
• Manual calculation ability and excellent attention to detail
• Ideally, experience with Local Government and Teachers' Pensions
• Confident using Excel and working with third-party payroll systems
• Analytical, proactive, and comfortable working independently
• Desirable - experience using Oracle
