Project Procurement Specialist Interim

Working with one of our Public Sector customers who are seeking support for Capital Construction.

Your new role
Responsible for the procurement of Services and Works as required under the direction of the Procurement Manager, to achieve the most economically advantageous result at least risk, and consistent with Public Procurement Regulations, Standing Financial Instructions and the operational requirements of the Constituent Organisations and Clients. This will include but not limited to:

• Invitation to quote/tender and commercial evaluation
• Negotiations with suppliers and contractors
• Placement of orders and contracts compliant with the Customers' Standing Financial Instructions, Procurement Policy and current legislation.
• When required, supervise a team of Procurement Officers and Procurement Assistants
• Delivery of annual workplan and achievement of performance and savings targets.

What you'll need to succeed
Minimum of 3/5 years working in a purchasing/contracting environment (preferably public sector). You should be experienced at supervising and managing staff. Understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques and a working knowledge of the rules governing public sector procurement.
