Job Description - Project Worker

Project Worker
 
LOCATION:               Swindon   
HOURS:                     37.5
SALARY:                   £14.89 PAYE or £15.02 Umbrella 
DURATION: TEMP - PERM
 
Executive Summary:
Our client is looking for a Project Worker to and be part of their dedicated supported housing team and help with their mission to end homelessness by supporting people towards independence.
 
Based within the Supported Housing team, you will be responsible for the delivery of an effective, high-quality, person-centred support service to service users with a background of homelessness and a range of low to medium needs. These include entrenched drug and/or alcohol issues, mental health issues and a range of offending backgrounds.
 
You will support service users and promote engagement through the development of positive relationships, providing support to move towards independence.
 
 
Day to day duties:
 
  1. Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the support service to a caseload of up to 20 service users.
  2. Assess and create support plans and risk assessments.
  3. Take a positive, trauma-informed approach to working with service users with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
  4. Conduct regular reviews of support plans and risk assessments as required.
  5. Take a pro-active approach to multi-agency working e.g. the police, social services.
  6. Ensure a high standard of customer service is upheld.
  7. To attend team meetings and take part in service policy and planning.
  8. To keep up to date with legislation affecting housing and welfare benefits.
  9. To ensure all case work is properly recorded and all service offers and outcomes are entered clearly onto the case management system.
  10. To deal with the immediate support needs of the Service users as appropriate.
  11. To assess resident safety and develop risk management strategies.
  12. To ensure that all written work both for internal and external use is of a high standard.
  13. Carry out inspections of properties to ensure that they are maintained to a good standard.
  14. Take appropriate action to deal with breaches of licence agreements.
  15. Ensure void turnaround times are kept to a minimum.
 
Preferred Requirements:
 
  • Experience within local authority, voluntary, independent, charity or social housing sector desirable.
  • Knowledge in identifying and dealing with substance misuse issues desirable.
  • Successful track record in developing services in response to changing needs and demands.
