Property Lawyer

Service Care Legal are partnering with a London borough council to recruit a skilled Property Lawyer on a 3-month contract basis, with the potential for ongoing work. This role requires a qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate to manage a varied property law caseload.

Job Title: Property Lawyer
Location: North West London
Contract: 3 months (potentially ongoing), 36 hours per week
Rate: £50.00ph umbrella / £44.11ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £39.36ph PAYE exc. Holiday pay

Please note that this role would require office attendance 1 day per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing buy-back transactions on behalf of the council
• Handling commercial landlord and tenant matters
• Advising on statutory lease extensions and enfranchisement cases
• Managing auction sales and associated legal documentation
• Preparing and reviewing reports on title
• Supporting development work, including drafting and advising on development agreements

Essential Requirements

• Valid and current practising certificate as a solicitor
• Demonstrable experience in property law, particularly with the types of cases listed above
• Strong knowledge of commercial landlord and tenant law
• Experience working within or alongside local government bodies is desirable
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
• Available to work 1 day per week in the council office in London, with the remainder remote
