Locum Property Litigation Lawyer – London Local Authority – Remote Working Considered – Full Time

Venn Group is working with a well-regarded and busy London local authority in their search for a Property Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 6 month role.

Details:
Job Title: Property Litigation Lawyer (with Debt Recovery and Civil Litigation)
Hourly Rate: Negotiable depending on experience
Length of Contract: 6 months, with strong potential for extension
Working Pattern: Full time – 36 hours
Location: Local Authority in London
Office attendance: Ideally once a fortnight (flexible, including fully remote)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Handling a caseload of property litigation matters
• Managing debt recovery proceedings on behalf of the council
• Advising on and progressing a range of general civil litigation cases
• Assisting in reducing a significant backlog of files
• Supporting the in-house legal team with ad-hoc litigation matters

Preferred Experience:

• Solid background in property litigation, ideally within the public sector
• Experience with debt recovery litigation processes
• Competence in managing general civil claims in the County Court
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working remotely and managing a flexible caseload
