Python Software Engineer

Python Software Engineer - Infrastructure - Scaling - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Do you enjoy designing and developing scaling solutions in Python? Do you have knowledge and experience of Storage solutions and tools?

I have an immediate 12 month contract for a Software Engineer to join a growing team in Glasgow. You'll be

• Developing and maintaining scalable solutions for managing storage repositories.
• Working closely with third-party vendors to integrate storage solutions.
• Designing and implementing tools for problem management and preventive maintenance.
• Working as part of a global team, providing technical advice and solutions.

I am keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Excellent skills in Python programming and related frameworks.
• Strong knowledge and experience of enterprise Unix / Linux environments
• Full development life cycle experience, working in large, corporate environments
• Knowledge of Object Oriented concepts and SQL Programming skills
• Excellent skills in software engineering principles
• Strong troubleshooting skills

Desirable skills would include:

• Knowledge of storage technologies, networking, systems architecture, cloud and containerisation
• Experience of one or more of the following tech stack: NetApp, IBM Spectrum Scale (aka GPFS), HDS Storage Arrays/HCP, EMC Atmos, Brocade SAN/FOS, Veritas Storage Foundation Suite, Sybase, DB2
