QA Data Analyst GCP - Contract

Job Title: Contract QA Data Analyst (GCP)
Contract Length: 12 Months (with potential extension)
Day Rate: £450-£550 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP

This incredibly well known digital giant, are seeking a skilled QA Data Analyst with experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join their data engineering team on a contract basis. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and reliability of large-scale data pipelines and analytics solutions built in a cloud environment.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong QA and data validation experience, excellent SQL skills, and a solid understanding of cloud-based data architectures—particularly within GCP.

• Design and implement test strategies for data validation, ETL processes, and data quality assurance.

• Develop automated data quality checks using SQL and scripting languages.

• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to define data quality metrics and reporting.

• Work with BigQuery and other GCP tools to validate and test data pipelines.

• Identify and resolve data issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive QA documentation.

• Proven experience as a QA Data Analyst or Data Quality Analyst.

• Strong expertise in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).

• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines in data environments.

• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing principles.

• Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages for automation.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other BI tools.

• Familiarity with dbt (data build tool).

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
