We have a fantastic Locum Social Work Opportunity based within a Children In Need/Child Protection Team in the Knowsley, Huyton area.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse, summarise and evaluate this information to provide a holistic assessment of a child's needs
• Understand the context of child development, parenting capacity, family and environmental factors in which to establish the needs of an individual child
• Provide written and verbal reports which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence
• Assess needs, to devise written plans for intervention and/or care for children and their families
• Develop and manage Child Protection Plans for all children on the Child Protection Register
• To maintain case records, keeping case files well organised, up to date and able to provide concise and accurate information about a child's circumstances and plans

To be considered for the Social Worker, ideally you will have:

• 2+ years experience in child protection and care proceedings
• Social Work Qualification
• Registered with Social Work England
• Have experience of long term child protection and assessment work
• Be able to manage a full and complex caseload
• Be child-focused and able to implement relationship-based and systemic-based practises
• Have a good knowledge of the issues and risks faced by children in care and the procedures to manage these
• Work well individually and within a team
