Quality Manufacturing Engineer (Contract)
Location: South Yorkshire (site-based, commutable)
Contract: 2–3 months initially, with potential for extension or permanent hire
Start: ASAP
Pro Rata Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

We’re supporting a well-established manufacturing business through an exciting period of growth and new product introduction, and they’re looking for an experienced Quality Manufacturing Engineer to provide immediate support on a key project.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced environment, bring your expertise to the table, and play a crucial role in quality assurance and process improvement. For the right candidate, there’s strong potential for the contract to extend or evolve into a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Maintain and improve the quality management system, including auditing, process control, and documentation.
• Implement and uphold quality assurance protocols to support both existing and new product lines.
• Support inspection, testing and measurement of components and finished products.
• Lead problem-solving activities, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership to ensure consistent quality output.
• Analyse production data and quality metrics to identify trends and drive performance improvements.
• Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement across processes, systems, and practices.
• Ensure accurate and timely flow of quality documentation, reporting, and compliance records.
• Contribute to a proactive safety and quality culture through hands-on leadership and engagement.

What You’ll Bring:

• +10 years’ experience working as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer or equivalent
• Confident delivering NPI and CI projects.
• Relevant experience with metals and associated processes (Machining, fabricating, welding)
• Formal Six Sigma qualification (Green or Black Belt preferred).
• Confident in using quality tools such as 8D, PFMEAs, MSA, RCA, 5Y, etc.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PPAP and APQP – essential.
• Excellent data analysis and reporting skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally and influence change.
• Familiarity with quality management software/systems is advantageous.
