Job Description - Reception Teaching Assistant

Reception Teaching Assistant
Location: Oldbury, B69 Birmingham
Pay Rate: £105 - 115
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 06/10/2025
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with proven experience in Reception or Early Years settings? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the B69 area is looking for a confident Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a long-term basis, with the opportunity for a permanent role for the right candidate.

This is a brilliant opportunity to become part of a supportive and experienced Early Years team that prides itself on providing a rich, engaging learning environment where children thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Reception class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
  • Deliver small group interventions focused on early phonics, communication and play-based learning
  • Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all pupils
  • Monitor and record children's progress in line with EYFS outcomes
  • Provide one-to-one support where needed, especially during transitions and routines

You Will Need:

  • Experience supporting in a Reception class, Nursery or EYFS setting
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Confident, reliable, and passionate about early childhood education
  • A genuine team player with a proactive and positive attitude
