Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) at the very start of their learning journey? Hays Recruitment is looking for nurturing and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work in Reception classes across Bristol primary schools from September 2025.

?? The Role:

As a Reception Class SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to Early Years pupils with SEND.
• Assist with early learning activities, play-based learning, and personal care routines.
• Support the class teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
• Help implement individual learning and behaviour plans tailored to each child's needs.

? What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with young children, ideally in an Early Years or SEND setting.
• A calm, patient, and caring approach to supporting emotional and developmental needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with teachers and parents.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

? Qualifications (Desirable but not essential):

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
• Relevant SEND training (e.g., autism awareness, sensory integration).
