Front of House Receptionist

• Location: Barnsley S70
• Contract Length: Minimum 3 months (until end of September)
• Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday until 4:00 PM
• Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour
• Job Type: Temporary

We are seeking a friendly, proactive, and highly organised Front of House Receptionist to join our vibrant Family Hub team. This role is crucial in supporting universal services for families with children and young people, with a nursery located onsite.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide a warm, welcoming reception service for families and visitors.
• Handle administrative tasks including room bookings, archiving, and message taking.
• Manage incoming phone calls and direct queries appropriately.
• Guide visitors and service users to the correct locations within the hub.
• Respond sensitively and appropriately to children of all ages.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Support a diverse range of families and professionals with a positive, inclusive approach.
• Multi-task effectively in a busy, people-focused environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Comfortable working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• High level of confidentiality and discretion.
• Team player with a supportive and flexible attitude.
• Desirable: Experience working in a family services or SEND environment and familiarity with room booking systems and general office administration.
