Front of House Receptionist

• Location: Barnsley S70
• Contract Length: Minimum 3 months (until end of September)
• Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday until 4:00 PM
• Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour
• Job Type: Temporary

We are seeking two friendly, proactive, and highly organised Front of House Receptionists to join our vibrant Family Hub team. This role is crucial in supporting universal services for families with children and young people, with a nursery located onsite.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide a warm, welcoming reception service for families and visitors.
• Handle administrative tasks including room bookings, archiving, and message taking.
• Manage incoming phone calls and direct queries appropriately.
• Guide visitors and service users to the correct locations within the hub.
• Respond sensitively and appropriately to children of all ages.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Support a diverse range of families and professionals with a positive, inclusive approach.
• Multi-task effectively in a busy, people-focused environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Comfortable working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• High level of confidentiality and discretion.
• Team player with a supportive and flexible attitude.
• Desirable: Experience working in a family service or SEND environment and familiarity with room booking systems and general office administration.
