Rehousing Support Officer

My client is seeking a dedicated Rehousing Support Officer to provide a first-class service to tenants and leaseholders undergoing estate renewal. This pivotal role ensures a smooth and supported transition from existing homes to new homes, making a real impact in the community.

• Act as a trusted point of contact for residents, guiding them through the rehousing process with empathy and care.

• Work closely with internal teams to deliver vacant possession of properties in line with key milestones.

• Support residents through temporary and permanent rehousing, managing decant chains and ensuring housing policies and agreements are met.

• Maintain accurate data, monitor KPIs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of housing services.

• Lead on sensitive and complex cases, providing innovative solutions and clear communication throughout the process.

• Experience working on estate renewal or major works schemes in a resident-facing role.

• Strong understanding of housing allocations, lettings, and void management.

• Proven ability to manage complex casework with tact, empathy, and professionalism.

• A proactive, resident-first approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and build effective partnerships.

• Site visits and evening meetings are part of the role - time off in lieu will be provided.

• Regular travel within Southwark will be required.
