A leading MSP are on the lookout for an DevOps Systems Engineer with a strong focus on automation and monitoring to help streamline internal processes, enhance system visibility, and support a series of upcoming automation projects. This is a 6-month remote contract, Outside IR35, ideal for a proactive infrastructure systems engineer and developer who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

About the Role DevOps System Engineer (Automation & Monitoring)

This role is perfect for someone with hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and monitoring solutions. You’ll work on a suite of internal tools and integrations focused on reducing manual effort, improving visibility, and speeding up operational workflows. You’ll collaborate across technical and operational teams to ensure systems are optimized, monitored, and automated where possible.

Key Responsibilities of DevOps System Engineer (Automation & Monitoring)

• Design and implement automation workflows to streamline processes across departments
• Build and maintain monitoring systems to improve infrastructure visibility and alerting
• Develop scripts and custom tools to integrate between RMM, PSA, and reporting platforms
• Collaborate on dashboarding and reporting solutions using tools like Power BI
• Lead or support the implementation of RMM and PSA automation projects

Must-Have Skills for DevOps System Engineer (Automation & Monitoring)

• Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
• Experience with Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) tools
• Familiarity with Monitoring systems like PRTG and similar
• Working knowledge of Professional Services Automation (PSA) platforms such as Halo and Datto
• Experience building visual dashboards and custom reports using Power BI
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
• Comfortable working independently and communicating effectively in a remote environment
