Housing Benefits Overpayments Officer

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Housing Benefits Overpayments Officer for our client a local government organisation in Charnwood, Leicestershire.

This role is a 1 month initial contract with the possibility to extend further. The role will be conducted via remote working. This is a part time 25hr per week position.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Answering customer queries via telephone, email and letter.
• Monitoring existing HB overpayments and contacting customers to set up/amend payment plans/chase missed instalments.
• Checking DWP systems (Searchlight) to trace customers and maximise overpayment recovery.
• Reviewing existing overpayments and making recommendations for write-offs.
• Dealing with applications for Breathing Space.
• Dealing with IVAs and and DROs.
• PDP referrals.

Personal Requirements:

• Experienced Overpayments Officer who has an excellent understanding of Housing Benefit Overpayment legislation.
• Proficient in using One Revs and Bens software (Academy).

Working Hours: 25hrs

Pay: £25.00 per hr
