Repairs Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Repairs Surveyor to support Lambeth Council's Housing Property Services team during a period of long-term staff absence.

You'll play a key role in delivering and monitoring day-to-day responsive repairs, inspecting properties, and ensuring technical repairs are carried out efficiently and to standard.

• Deliver and monitor responsive day-to-day housing repairs.

• Undertake pre-inspections of occupied and void council properties.

• Accurately diagnose complex repairs and structural defects.

• Provide detailed technical specifications for necessary repair works.

• Liaise with contractors, residents, and internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.

• Carry out post-inspections and quality checks on completed works.

• Apply safeguarding principles and report any concerns appropriately.

• Advise on cost-effective repairs and alternative solutions.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant housing legislation and council procedures.

• Proven experience in housing repairs and maintenance surveying.

• Strong technical knowledge of housing construction and maintenance standards.

• Ability to write detailed and accurate repair specifications.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Knowledge of relevant housing regulations, health and safety, and Section 20 consultation processes.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding in housing contexts.

• Competitive daily rate of £200 (umbrella)
