Research Costing Specialist

Interim vacancy - Research Costing Officer

Location: Bedfordshire (Hybrid preferred, remote considered)

Hourly rate: £20.46 (£22.93 including holiday pay) or £26 via Umbrella company.
Contract Type: Interim (3 months initially, up to 6 months)

We are currently looking to identify candidates who can support research costing and pricing activity on an interim basis.

About the Role:
This role will play a key part in the development and submission of research project costings, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external funder requirements. You’ll work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to provide accurate and timely costings that support high-quality research proposals.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in research project costing and pricing, ideally within a university or research-intensive environment.
• Familiarity with pre-award research management processes.
• Experience using WorkTribe or similar university costing tools is highly desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of finance systems and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
