Residential Children’s Home Manager

Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £460 umbrella a day (£350 PAYE a day)

Wokingham Borough Council are looking for a Residential Children’s Home Manager to join their new service. This service comprises a multi-building children’s home including a 4-bedroom EBC home and up to 2 smaller complex homes

Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the effective management for the two residential homes, and the provision of a professional children and young people centred service, in line with the relevant regulations, legislation, codes of practice, and policy and procedures.
Have full autonomy, recruiting your own team and leading on the development of an essential service that will positively impact on the lives of children and young people
Manage and oversee the annual budget of both children’s homes
Deal with complex issues effectively in order to develop a responsive and effective service for users
Embedding, training, and implementing the chosen therapeutic practice model approach into every aspects of the homes’ management

Requirements:

Professional qualification in (recognized and current) Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent
3 years as a manager in a children’s residential setting
Proven ability to ensure that services are delivered to the highest achievable professional standards, that quality standards are identified and measured and that remedial action is undertaken
