Job Description - Revenues Assistant

Revenue Assistant

Stoke-on-Trent ST4

Role and key responsibilities for Revenue Assistant

Applying all changes to Council Tax and Business Rates accounts and authorising invoices raised by internal departments
Take card payments using industry standard software
Maintain an up to date knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debt legislation and internal procedures and processes and keep fully appraised of relevant changes
Set up direct debits and deal with sensitive financial information in a confidential and secure manner
Deal with billing exception reports and rebill accounts as necessary
Assess and raise refunds
Set up payment arrangements and special payment arrangements in line with our internal processes, completing financial statements where necessary
Promote online services to residents and assist them in creating an account and linking
this to their Council Tax or Business Rates account

Minimum Requirements for Revenue Assistant

Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, specifically around GDPR and the impact this has on the Revenues Service
Knowledge of Revenues billing and recovery statutory legislation
Experience of operating billing, recovery and invoicing systems
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work to high degree of accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay rate: £21.99

Working hours:
Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00
