Revenues Officer (Council Tax)
Location: Charnwood Borough Council
Rate: £29 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3+ months, full-time

Overview:
Charnwood Borough Council is seeking an experienced Revenues Officer to join the Billing and Recovery team. You'll be responsible for the billing, collection, and recovery of Council Tax, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation.

Key Duties:

• Establish Council Tax liability, applying discounts, exemptions, and reliefs.

• Issue bills and notices in line with statutory requirements.

• Negotiate and monitor payment arrangements to maximise collection

• Take appropriate recovery action where necessary.

• Provide clear advice to residents on Council Tax matters.

• Maintain accurate records and deliver services fairly and effectively.

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar Revenues/Council Tax role within local government.

• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and procedures.

• Confident communicator with good negotiation skills.

• Knowledge of systems like Northgate is an advantage.
