Risk and Compliance Analyst 9 Month FTC

I’m partnering with a leading regional law firm on an exciting opportunity for a Risk and Compliance Analyst to join their team. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential for extension or a permanent position.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Compliance, Compliance Manager, MLRO, Compliance Lawyers, and fellow Analysts to support the firm’s efforts in managing and mitigating risk.

The role will involve the following:

• Acting as a key point of contact for queries in relation to the firm's compliance policies and procedures
• Reviewing AML queries, responding in the first instance and escalating complex queries to the MLRO
• Reviewing and responding to first line GDPR data breaches, liaising with the relevant staff. Where appropriate forwarding complex matters to the Risk Lawyer
• Undertaking file audits to determine compliance with firm policies
• Answering client onboarding queries involving PEPs and Sanctions
• Maintaining the department’s risk and compliance register
• Supporting the annual SRA Practicing Certificate Renewals
• Providing administrative support for external audits
• Managing the compliance team’s diaries and scheduling and minuting meetings

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Some knowledge of risk and compliance subjects relevant to a law firm such as AML or data protection
• Working knowledge of AML regulations and client onboarding procedures
• Previous experience in an advisory and administrative role
• Previous experience within a legal environment
• Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines
