Risk Assurance Director

Are you passionate about regulatory compliance and ready to take the lead in a high-impact role? Huntswood is looking for a Risk Assurance Director to join our client's team, supporting and driving assurance activities around compliance with Laws, Rules, and Regulations (LRR) for Own Funds, Eligible Liabilities, and all RWA risk types.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing critical review of treasury and finance compliance conclusions, ensuring evidence fully supports our compliance stance
• Independently reviewing and challenging rule interpretation proposals, using your expertise to assess the right regulatory treatment
• Acting as the go-to expert for Risk on regulatory capital and liquidity requirements including interpreting and applying rules to complex transactions
• Coordinating closely with the Finance Controls Office to align on rule assurance activities
• Representing the team at management committees and sharing your insights at the highest level

What we're looking for:

• Deep technical knowledge of Basel 3, CRD IV/CCR rules, both current and upcoming
• 12+ years' experience in banking, a central bank, prudential regulator, or professional services (or a mix of these)
• A proven track record handling complex transactions, understanding their commercial drivers, and applying sound judgment to regulatory requirements
• Broad finance knowledge and the ability to explain technical topics clearly and confidently
• The confidence to challenge senior regulatory experts and stakeholders across business and finance
• Direct or indirect experience with controls, and a strong control mindset
• Excellent workload management skills and a commitment to robust governance and control structures
