Role: Risk Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Hourly Rate: £53.90 Umbrella (INSIDE IR35)
Location: Barrow in Furness ( 2 days per fortnight )
Duration: 6 Months
Clearance: BPSS & SC Cleared
Hours: 37 hours/week

Overview

BAE Systems Submarines is seeking a Risk Engineer to support risk management and project controls within the Site, Infrastructure & Facilities (SIF) programme in Barrow. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in leading risk activities across complex infrastructure or defence projects.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct risk and project control processes across work packages or small projects
Maintain and manage risk registers and mitigation strategies
Support planning, scheduling, and stakeholder reporting
Apply appropriate delivery methods (waterfall or agile)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform project decisions
Contribute to improving project controls practices

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in project risk management and controls
Strong understanding of PM tools and governance frameworks
Familiar with IBRs, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
Able to work independently and guide junior team members
