Road Freight Forwarder

• Annual Salary: Circa £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
• Location: Knowsley

We are seeking a Road Freight Forwarder with a strong background in Freight Forwarding or Distribution, particularly within the EU trailers department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a solid understanding of European Road Freight logistics.

• Process and arrange collections and deliveries in line with arrival and sailing schedules
• Liaise with hauliers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely collection of cargo and on-time delivery
• Maintain clear visibility of stock by working closely with the team
• Chase and provide documents relating to stock and deliveries
• Negotiate rates with hauliers and customers to improve business profit margins
• Handle processing of UK and potentially EU customs clearance
• Issue daily and weekly reports to ensure departmental deadlines are met
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transactions with all customers

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in EU Road Freight, with a strong background in a Freight Forwarding department
• Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner
• Proficient computer skills; additional training will be provided for in-house systems
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance and European documentation is desirable
