Roofer

Join our in-house maintenance and repair team, dedicated to providing first-class service in the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of local authority housing, public buildings, and associated organisations. As a Roofer, you will travel across the district to deliver essential roofing repairs and maintenance services.

• Conduct day-to-day roofing repairs and maintenance on Council properties and for other external clients, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Perform maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and renewal work on domestic properties, schools, and public buildings.
• Operate from a handheld mobile device to complete all relevant records, maintaining up-to-date and accurate departmental information.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships and communication links, representing Homes and Neighbourhoods with internal and external clients and customers.

• In-depth knowledge of built-up felt roofing/flat roofing and pitch roofing, slating, and tiling.
• Apprentice trained or equivalent relevant experience.
• NVQ Level II (or equivalent) in an appropriate trade or demonstrable skill set.
• Experience working with a wide range of roofing materials.
• Full and valid driving licence, as travel is an essential part of this job.
• Physical fitness to bend, lift, climb, crawl, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Awareness of Health and Safety, Customer Care, and Environmental issues related to the Building Trade.
• Must pass standard medical screening and any other medical screening as decided by the Occupational Health Physician.
• Acceptance of an enhanced DBS and barred list check.
