£60 per hour (Inside IR35, Umbrella)

Our client are seeking a Safety Engineer to join them on a long-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and maintenance of Safety Management Plans, ensuring alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct safety analysis activities, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety case development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to define safety boundaries and ensure integration of safety requirements into system design.
• Provide safety input and guidance to internal and external Safety Panels and Committees throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support the generation of safety arguments and ALARP justifications, ensuring that safety evidence meets the required standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in hazard identification and analysis techniques (e.g. SWIFT, HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, ETA).
• Strong understanding of how safety integrates with systems engineering processes to influence product design.
• Familiarity with DEF-STAN 00-056 and the ability to produce compliant Safety Management Plans and Safety Case Reports.
• Background in electronic engineering (degree/HND or equivalent), with experience in software or other disciplines considered advantageous.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
