SAP Test Manager S/4 HANA

A SAP Test Manager (SuccessFactors & S/4HANA) is required for our client based in Manchester for an initial 6 months contract. Mainly remote, however site visits will be required various phases of the project/dependent on project needs.

Our client is undertaking a major SAP transformation programme, implementing both SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors to replace legacy systems. The implementation partner is finalising System Integration Testing (SIT) and will shortly transition to User Acceptance Testing (UAT). An experienced SAP Test Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end test management process for both systems.

Role Overview

The SAP Test Manager will be responsible for defining and managing all aspects of the testing strategy across the SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors platforms. This includes review and customisation of standard SAP test scripts, test planning, coordination of test execution, defect management, and ensuring readiness for go-live.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end test strategy and execution for SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors.
• Review and tailor standard SAP test scripts provided by the implementation partner.
• Establish and manage test governance frameworks, including entry/exit criteria, test plans, traceability matrices, and reporting.
• Coordinate and oversee all testing phases including SIT, UAT, regression testing, and cutover testing.
• Manage the defect lifecycle ensuring timely resolution and re-testing.
• Liaise closely with implementation partners, internal stakeholders, and business users to align on test outcomes.

Essential Experience and Skills

• Proven experience as a Test Manager on full lifecycle SAP implementations, specifically S/4HANA and SuccessFactors.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP testing processes and tools.
• Familiarity with public sector operating environments.
• Expertise in managing cross-functional testing teams and working in matrixed delivery models.
• Experience with SAP test case documentation, execution tracking, and defect management.
• Deep understanding of SAP modules relevant to HR (SuccessFactors) and Finance/Procurement (S/4HANA).
• Strong stakeholder engagement, planning, and reporting skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with SAP Cloud ALM (CALM) or other recognised SAP test management platforms such as SAP Solution Manager, HP ALM, or Tricentis.
• ISTQB or equivalent test management certification.
• Experience in agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools within SAP ecosystems.
