School Caretaker

We are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker based in Bedford for one of our clients on a temporary basis.

Summary of the School Caretaker role

Salary: £14 - £16 per hour
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: temporary for 6+ weeks
Hours: Monday -Friday 8:15am - 3:15pm plus overtime available

Responsibilities of theSchool Caretaker

• General site security, including securing entrances/exits and locking the site.
• Assist with minor and simple repairs, including minor plumbing, unblocking drains, changing light bulbs etc.
• Supervise the cleaning team.
• Cleaning of spillages and any other urgent/emergency cleaning.
• Operate heating plant, cooling and lighting systems.
• Replenish hand soap, toilet roll and paper towels.

Requirements for a successful School Caretaker

• Previous experience within a similar role.
• Recent Enhanced DBS Certificate.
• Experience in undertaking a range of maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing.
• Experience working within a school.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Basic IT skills with experience in record keeping.
