School Caretaker

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for primary schools based in South Liverpool, who are looking for reliable and committed Caretakers to join their team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with maintenance or facilities experience who is passionate about helping to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and securing the school premises, including during holiday periods and events (split shifts may be required)

• Conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks

• Supporting cleaning operations and monitoring site cleanliness

• Maintaining outdoor areas and ensuring safe access during adverse weather

• Managing waste and recycling in line with school procedures

• Ensuring health and safety standards are met throughout the school site

• Liaising with contractors and supporting the delivery and setup of equipment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in a similar caretaking, facilities, or site management role

• A sound understanding of health and safety practices

• Strong practical skills and the ability to use initiative

• Flexibility and reliability, with a willingness to adapt to the needs of the school

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply through Tradewind Recruitment
