Are you an experienced school caretaker or facilities professional looking for your next role in education? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable caretaker to join a specialist SEND school in Mexborough, starting this September.

This warm and welcoming school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, creating a nurturing and safe environment for learning. As part of the site team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the school’s facilities to a high standard, helping to ensure the day-to-day running of the school is safe, secure, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and securing the site daily
• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and minor works
• Ensuring the site is clean, safe, and compliant with health & safety standards
• Supporting contractors and managing deliveries
• Assisting with fire safety checks and general compliance tasks

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a caretaker or in a similar facilities/maintenance role (preferably in a school or education setting)
• Good understanding of health & safety and compliance
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
