Salary: £13.68 per hour

Location: S3, Sheffield

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (07:30am-15:30pm Mon-Fri)

Start date: ASAP subject to DBS checks and sufficient referencing

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, starting immediately.

About the Role: I am seeking a dedicated and skilled School Caretaker to join a wonderful through school in Sheffield. This role will be based within the primary school site but some element of flexibility will be required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and smooth operation of the school facilities, under supervision of the site manager and alongside a team of caretakers and cleaners; ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all occupants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Key handling and security management
• Performing a variety of DIY tasks
• Basic plumbing and electrical repairs
• Coordinating with external agencies and contractors
• Understanding and managing legionella and asbestos risks
• Utilising strong IT skills for various tasks
• Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Acting with initiative to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within education
• Strong DIY skills
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
• Experience in coordinating with outside agencies and contractors
• Understanding of legionella and asbestos management
• Strong IT skills
• Excellent communication skills
• COSSH understanding
• Understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe in education
