School Caretaker - South Liverpool

Job Title: Full-Time School Caretaker
Location: Secondary School - L15, Liverpool
Salary: Dependant on experience
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: As soon as possible

Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in L15 for a reliable, proactive and hardworking Caretaker. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, well-maintained, and ready to support effective teaching and learning.

• Opening and locking up the school site daily

• General maintenance and repair of school buildings and grounds

• Liaising with contractors and overseeing on-site works

• Health & safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and risk assessments

• Ensuring heating, lighting, and alarm systems are in good working order

• Setting up rooms for school events and exams

• Maintaining cleanliness in key communal areas

• Monitoring stock levels and ordering maintenance supplies when needed

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site manager, or maintenance role (desirable)

• Good understanding of health & safety practices

• Practical DIY skills (painting, plumbing, basic repairs)

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting)
