Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Schools Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The Schools Accountant will be expected to support a range of schools based on the individual support the schools have purchased. The focus of this role will be purely financial as opposed to the usual SBM role duties.

Main Responsibilities

• Transactional support – payments, month end reconciliation, VAT submittal
• Strategic support – analysis of budgets and spend, including reporting to Governing Body and or headteachers
• Supporting the school to develop Deficit Recovery Plans
• Implementing of new finance systems - and associated training

CandidateCriteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified/Part-Qualified is preferred
• Sound knowledge of Schools Funding with the ability to engage with Heads and Governors
• Experience in Schools Accounting within a Local Authority is highly desirable
• Awareness of national policies affecting schools funding and policies
• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
