Schools Finance Assistant - Grade F

Service Care Solutions are working alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham for a Schools Finance Assistant on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.

Role: School Finance Assistant
Salary: £17.70 - £20.62 per hour (PAYE) / £19.65 - £23.00 per hour (Umbrella/Ltd)
Contract: 5 months on going
Location: Nottingham
Working: Hybrid/Remote (requirement for school visits)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial systems.
• Handle bank reconciliations, accruals and journals; support budget preparation and monitoring.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, providing schools with financial insights.
• Ensure adherence to local government and education sector financial regulations. 
• Proficiency in financial systems (Fusion/Oracle, FMS, BPS) and Excel/Office. Familiarity with Bromcom, Access, or Iris is a plus.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of school funding processes and local government finance.
• AAT qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and accuracy under pressure.
