General Science Teacher - Maternity Cover (1-Year Fixed Term)
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (12 months)
Salary: £33,000 - £50,000 per annum (Main Pay Scale - London Fringe, dependent on experience)
Key Stages: KS3 and KS4 (Applications also welcomed from experienced Primary or Unqualified Teachers)

Tradewind Recruitment is urgently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded alternative provision in St Albans for a General Science Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2025. The headteacher is looking to interview suitable candidates immediately, so early application is strongly advised.

• Deliver General Science across KS3 and KS4

• Full-time maternity cover for the full academic year (September 2025 - July 2026)

• Engage and motivate students with SEMH needs through creative, differentiated teaching

• Based at a supportive alternative provision in St Albans

• Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or experienced unqualified teacher with relevant subject and classroom experience

• Prior experience with SEMH students is highly desirable

• Strong behaviour management and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment

• Energetic, committed, and ready to make an immediate impact

• Available for the full academic year from September 2025
